Witness Testimony

It’s still too hard. Yancy and Zoey had been together off and on since they were 16. They had been married 18 years. Zoey was working as a Class A First Responder. Yancy recently had a check up before he got sick and he was a healthy man. He had gained a little weight but he was healthy. In Oct she got sick.

Oct 14th he was pegged out on O2 and she was trying to find resources. She couldn’t get Ivermectin and HCQ. Oct 16th she begged him to go to the hospital. Oct 16th he agreed to go to the hospital. She called and told them she was bringing him.

She said I work in the hospital and she see’s Covid Patients as part of her job and they still wouldn’t allow her to go in. She was videoing him and 2 days into his stay he was acting strange.

She told them they refused Remdesivir, they did not consent. Everyday she asked if they were giving him Remdesivir and they lied to her. She screamed they better not give you remdesivir.

They put him in an opioid induced withdrawal and then told him if he wanted to go home he had to take Remdesivir. The nurse apologized and had a doctor call and apologize for the “confusion” and Zoey told her it was not confusion it was trickier.

Zoey obtained Ivermectin and HCQ for her husband and they would not give it to him. She managed to sneak one dose in his Taco Bell. The next day they told her she had 15 min to get there because they were putting him on a Vent. His last words to her were I’m coming back.

They transferred him to a Banner facility which she did not want. They gave him a paralytic before they got him on the helicopter and she said hey did you give him that before I talked to him! Her coworkers at the hospital tried to console her.

Zoey called to check on her husband often and was not getting information, they wouldn’t allow him to have his prescriptions, or high dose vitamins. They would not tell her anything about his care, nutrition, water, medications, etc. It was about 6 weeks before she was allowed to see him. She was still working full time.

She started receiving what she calls “false flags”. They would tell her oh he’s getting better and then not better. Then they were giving him immense numbers of narcotics. Zoey knew that if he had one surgical sedation drug that he didn’t need multiple others or even anxiety meds. The medications did not make sense. She would be there or on video and he would try to talk and they would say there was an emergency and sedate him. They pulled him off sedation and back on so many times she lost count.

The doctor at Greely informed Zoey that he put a DNR on Yancy. Zoey said, isn’t that something I should decide? He said, “well do you want him to suffer”? And he forced a DNR anyway. He was getting hospital acquired infections. Zoey was trying to fight for her husband because they were starving him and not giving him care. He lost 89 pounds!

On Dec 21st they shut off all support. Zoey’s son was deployed to Qatar at the time and ended up flying back to be there. I felt like I failed Yancy with all the knowledge I have. I am afraid of hospitals. I felt like I was in a different universe because this isn’t how healthcare is.

“"forced DNR. So the doctor at Greeley informed me he had placed a DNR on my husband. And I was like, isn't that something that I decide? Like, I'm his wife. Well, do you want your husband to suffer? And I'm like, isn't that all he's doing is suffering? All you guys are doing to him is causing him to suffer. Like, he's literally tested negative for COVID for months... all kinds of other infections at during the same time. Like, I'm just overwhelmed and trying to do my best to fight and trying to get them to give him nutrition.”

“"I walked in there anyway through the other side, and I said, we refused remdesivir one hundred percent. And my husband knew exactly the same thing. We had kept up on it. He told them the same thing. Do not give me remdesivir. I do not I don't consent to remdesivir at all no matter what. ... And they were lying to me. Day four of him in the hospital, he was acting so weird, ... and the nurse was in the room, and she said, oh my, they are giving remdesivir.”

“"When I finally do get to see him, just the state he's in, he's lost a lot of weight. He was pretty heavy when he went in there. ... No prediabetes. No health conditions at all except for the severe asthma that he'd had since he was a baby.”

“"They would have all kinds of these, like I call them false flags of, oh, he's getting better. ... I don't understand. That kind of medication wasn't even given to me. I've had, like, thirteen surgeries.”

“"something has to change. Something has to give because my husband did not deserve to die like that. You know, he was a good man. He was a good husband. He's a hard worker. He's good at what he did. He had a huge heart, and I miss him so much... It has destroyed my life. This is all that's left of my husband. Some ashes that I carry in this.”

“"Like, no remdesivir. You guys have assured me no remdesivir, and all along you've been working towards remdesivir... I want to bring them there for you to to administer to him, or I'm taking him home. And they said, no. He couldn't have him. So I was, like, panicked. I didn't know what to do.”
