Kimberlee Wood’s Heartbreaking Story

Kimberlee was happily married to her husband, Steve Wood. Shen never thought she would be widowed so soon.

On July 28, 2021, Steve said he did not feel well, and his work required him to get a Covid test. He went to CVS and sure enough, he tested positive. A few days later Kimberlee caught Covid-19. They bought an oximeter to monitor their oxygen just to be safe. Kimberlee’s was holding steady, but Steve’s continued to drop over the next few days. That following Tuesday Steve’s o2 was eighty-five and they decided it was time to go to the hospital. Kimberlee dropped him off not knowing that was the last time she would she him in person.

Immediately, they started Steve on remdesivir, and according to the hospital records, they gave Steve three doses in one day. This is unheard of, but the bill showed a charge of $3000 that day just for the remdesivir. After 5 days of remdesivir, Steve’s health continually declined. Kim and Steve facetimed everyday and on Aug 17th, Steve cried and said he was scared. The next day, Steve called and said he needed more oxygen, and they were moving him to ICU where they could give him more oxygen and put him on a bipap mask.

On Aug 19th, Kim was woken up early in the morning by Steve’s phone, it was the doctor on the other end that told Kim they were going to put Steve on a ventilator, and he wanted to talk to her before they did. The last words Kimberlee heard her husband say was “I can’t breathe babe, they said this would help, and I love you.”

Steve spent the last thirty days of his life alone, often humiliated, and scared. He went into the hospital a healthy man who just needed a little oxygen supplementation, and after 8 doses of remdesivir, his body started shutting down, which eventually killed him.

These are crimes against humanity. With proper early treatment, Steve and Kimberlee would still be living their lives, instead of Kimberlee being a heartbroken widow.
